Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) is one of the most prestigious awards in Islamic banking and finance that celebrate the achievements of individuals, institutions and governments in promoting and advocating Islamic banking and finance. This year the evaluation committee for GIFA had selected ZamZam Bank for itโs contribution to establish and strengthen interest free banking in Ethiopia.
The 13th Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) is celebrated at an event held in Dakar, Senegal on September 14/2023 with the presence of His Excellency Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, senior ministries of various nations, ambassadors, global industry players and invited guests. It is to be remembered that last year the prime minister of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed was the recipient of GIFA for his leadership and advocacy roles in promoting Islamic banking and finance in Ethiopia.
